- There’s going to be a benefit concert for Northfielder, and mother of four, Sarah Henson tonight. Sarah was diagnosed in 2008 with an aggressive grade four glialblastoma brian tumor. Funds raised will help Sarah cover ongoing medical and living expenses. Mark and Alec, Sweet North and Chance Meetings will perform for the benefit. Those who wish to contribute to the Sarah Henson Benefit fund can do so at the door. The benefit starts at 7:00 tonight in the Grand Event Center.
- The Northfield Economic Development Authority voted yesterday to approve letters of mutual interest from Kenneth Prawer and Robert Gill. The letters are in regard to roughly 450 acres of property being proposed for annexation. EDA Director, Jody Gunderson says the agreement allows EDA consultants to enter the property on agreed upon times. Any steps beyond Master Planning would require further agreements. Gunderson says a similar agreement was entered into with property owners on annexed land west of the hospital.
- If you haven’t already received one, you’ll soon get a letter letting you know your 2010 census form is on the way. City council liaison to the Human Rights Commission, Rhonda Pownell, says it’s vital you fill out the form and return it. Minnesota stands to lose one of its US House seats if not enough Minnesotans are counted. April 1st is the official census day. Pownell says you can fill out and return the form as soon as you receive it. She says the form only takes about ten minutes to fill out.
