Paula’s guests today share stories of the magic of imagination and invite you to join them in two Northfield Arts Guild opportunities: The Young People’s Theater Summer Workshop and performances of the play The Phantom Tollbooth. The Young People’s Theater Summer Workshop is celebrating its 20th year. Talented and experienced theater artists and educators will share this three-week theatric journey into the imagination with participants. Students will study creative dramatics, dance and more as well as write, rehearse and perform an original script at the end of the session. There are two sessions of the Young People’s Theater and the program is open to kids entering grades three through twelve.

The Northfield Arts Guild theater will produce the family show The Phantom Tollbooth based on the book by Norton Juster. This production will be directed by Theater Coordinator Libby Glimsdal. Based on a long-popular children’s book, The Phantom Tollbooth follows Milo on a journey into an imaginative land. Milo must fight foes like The Doldrums and the Demons of Ignorance to save Dictionopolis and Digitopolis. Aided by his companions Tock and The Humbug, Milo strives to rescue the Princesses Rhyme and Reason from the Castle in the Air. Get your tickets now!
