Listen Fridays at 9:00am (replayed on Saturday also at 9am) to Paula Granquist’s “Art Zany: Radio for the Imagination”
Paula’s Guest/Topic this week:
Paula’s guest today is Jeanne Willcoxon – director of the Northfield Arts Guild production of Romeo and Juliet. With star-crossed young lovers, swordplay, and memorable moments, Romeo and Juliet is one of the quintessential stories of all time. As a capstone to the Northfield Arts Guild’s 50th Anniversary Theatrical Season, the Arts Guild will be offering our production of Romeo and Juliet in Central Park on August 6-14. The production will be presented in promenade staging. Promenade staging means that there will not be a formal stage in the park, but the action of the play will move through acting areas throughout the park, and the audience will be invited to follow along. Come enjoy this classic romance al fresco!
Performances of Romeo & Juliet will be held in Central Park (421 4th Street East, Northfield, Minnesota) on August 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, and 14 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available online at northfieldartsguild.org or by calling the Arts Guild at 507-645-8877.
