A 36-year-old Northfield woman has died in a vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning in Cannon City Township. Michelle Holmes was ejected from her SUV, which was traveling north bound on county road 20.The SUV had entered the ditch and rolled over several times. Rice county deputies, Faribault Fire/Rescue and North Ambulance were dispatched to the crash at the 16000 block of Cannon City Boulevard at around 9:30 on Tuesday morning. Sergeant Troy Dunn of the Rice County Sheriff’s department says Holmes was deceased upon deputies arrival. Dunn says a family pet was also killed in the crash, and another, a sheltie is still missing. Dunn says it appears Holmes was not wearing a seat belt.
