A 20-year-old man faces a felony drug charge in Rice County today. According to Northfield deputy police chief Chuck Walerius, police arrested Nicholas John Loesch at around 11:00 last night in the parking lot of Riverside Lyons Park. Police observed a parked car with blacked out windows. When someone got out of the front seat of the car and moved to the back seat, officers approached the vehicle. The officers found three males in the car and noticed the strong scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Loesch is alleged to have supplied the marijuana, which he confessed to police later in the evening, according to Walerius. Loesch faces a 5th degree controlled substance felony charge involving the sale of marijuana. He could serve up to five years in prison, pay a $10,000 fine or both if convicted.
