Paula’s Guest/Topic this week: BIG show today – ArtZany! is going to the top of the hour again. We’ve got two stories about fathers and sons and a great preview of an upcoming art studio tour.
9:05 — Peter Geye is a Minnesota author and his debut novel is Safe from the Sea, a story about a son who returns to Duluth, to the Lake Superior area, to help his ailing and father. The son, Noah has been estranged from his father for years, an estrangement that began after his father survived the sinking of his Great Lakes ore boat during Noah’s youth. Geye’s novel has been chosen as an Indie Next pick for October, is a Midwest Connections pick, is a Women’s National Book Association “National Reading Group Month” selection, and is a Publisher’s Weekly Fall “Indie Sleeper List” selection. Copies of the book Safe from the Sea are available at the Carleton College Bookstore and will also be available at the event.
