Listen Fridays at 9:00am (replayed on Saturday also at 9am) to Paula Granquist’s “Art Zany: Radio for the Imagination”
Paula’s Guest/Topic this week:
Paula’s guest today is photography artist Laura Schneck. Her work takes you into the unnoticed and overlooked and transforms that which is unremarkable into works of exquisite beauty. She will show her work in a photography exhibit of three artists at the Paradise Center for the Arts opening on Friday, 4 March.
Laura Schenck’s digital pieces in “Conspiracy” capture, in an innovative way, the seemingly unremarkable, sometimes ugly leavings of everyday life: rust and grime, deposits and stains, mildew and decay. The resulting images, removed from the context of a clean and orderly world, reveal something unexpected: the art in accident and the ubiquity of beauty.
