He began playing music with Mark Grundhoefer and Russell Franek with the Grundhoefer Band and then with Russell Franek, Adam Hackfeld, Kyle Heckers in a band called Communication Breakdown. He produced a solo album in 2004, recording at Pachyderm recording studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. His second solo album, entitled History, was released in 2009. Alison Scott is the strongest new voice to come out of the Minneapolis music scene in many years; her soulful, organic sound completely ignores the ‘rules of cool’ that limit so much of today’s music. Working with multi-platinum guitarist/producer Kevin Bowe (Paul Westerberg, Etta James, Jonny Lang), drummer Peter Anderson (Polara, Honeydogs) and bassist Steve Price (Rex Daisy). Alison has sold out the Dakota Jazz Club a dozen shows in a row. They are also performing at benefits, corporate functions, and festivals; opening for national artists like Bon Jovi, Chris Isaak, Marc Cohn, Boz Scaggs, and Nanci Griffith. After signing with a national agency, the band has started touring in earnest. Alison’s new CDs have sold over 7000 units and counting. The newest release, “Chinese Whispers” has just been picked up for national distribution and was named one of the year’s ten best by the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Learn more at alisonscott.com.
