The Northfield city council, in a 6 to 1 vote, has opted to delegate the responsibility of developing a request for proposal to an ad hoc committee and city staff for the reuse or redevelopment of the property located at 303 and 305 Water Street.
The ad hoc committee, consisting of councilors Betsey Buckheit and Suzie Nakasian, and city staff will make their recommendation to the city council no later than July 19th. The council approved the purchase of the former Key property at 303 Water Street in early April, after months of negotiations with representatives from the Union of Youth. The city agreed to purchase the property for $49,000, with the city paying any legal fees and closing costs.
