EMS Personnel and Youth Explorers prepare to set up the simulated crash scene

Local law enforcement, emergency service officials and several other local organizations host a staged car crash at Northfield High School today.

 

The staged crash will simulate a drunk driving accident, from the accident through the rescue/recovery attempt. Northfield Emergency Medical Services Manager Brian Edwards says the goal of the event is to show young drivers the devastating effects of drinking and driving. Edwards also stresses that young drivers need to be aware that poor decisions can last a lifetime. Also, speaking at the event, the parents of Brittney Landsverk. Brittney is the young Faribault woman who died in a 2010 car accident. The event begins at 1:00 today at Northfield High School and the public is welcome to attend.
