Fender benders and minor accidents continue to be on the rise in the area.
On Thursday, a pedestrian crossing Highway 3 at 2nd Street was struck by a turning vehicle. Northfield Deputy Police Chief Chuck Walerius says now that the weather is nicer and gas prices have dropped somewhat, there’s more traffic on the roads. The Deputy Chief reminds drivers to drive attentively and watch for pedestrians and bicyclists. Walerius says the pedestrian struck Thursday was taken to Northfield hospital and treated for a knee injury. No citations have been issued in the incident as of yet.
