Paula’s guest today is the multi-talented artist Toni Easterson. She is a fiber artist, graphic artist, floral and garden designer, and writer. She began her career as a graphic designer but later shifted her focus to textiles after learning of, and being inspired by, her Native American heritage. Her fiber works feature an assortment of textile techniques including beading, embroidery and weaving applied in a variety of capacities. Since returning to Minnesota eight years ago, Easterson has been an active member of Textile Center in Minneapolis and a teaching artist and board member of the Northfield Arts Guild. She is a part of Penchant, Northfield Women Poets and other writing groups. She and her husband have three grown children, raise quantities of flowers and are fans of Carleton basketball.
