A group of local citizens is working to strike a deal with Rejoice! church to restore the historic Holy Cross Church sanctuary.

In May, a citizen task force filed an appeal with the Minnesota Court of Appeals against the city of Dundas asking the court to order the city to complete an environmental assessment worksheet (EAW) on the Rejoice! project at the Holy Cross site. Task force member, Jane Moline says the group is wiling to drop the appeal if Rejoice! agrees to restore the sanctuary of the church. The Holy Cross site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The task force says upon taking possession of the property, Rejoice! stripped the historic interior sanctuary of Holy Cross, including pews, altar rails, lecturns, chairs, plaques, and other items of historic significance. So far, Rejoice! has not responded to the task force’s offer to drop the appeal.
