Listen Fridays at 9:00am (replayed on Saturday also at 9am) to Paula Granquist’s “ArtZany!: Radio for the Imagination”
Paula’s Guest/Topic this week: Today ArtZany! Radio highlights the musical melodrama parody Jessie Jane’s Jamboree V – Never Never Northfield. This irreverent, comedic, and musical stomp thorough Northfield history is a show written by the outstanding local playwright Brendon Etter. This production is a fundraiser for the Northfield Arts Guild. Joining Paula in the studio are Ann Etter, Libby Glimsdal and Deborah Clark.
Jessie Jane’s Jamboree V – Never Never Northfield: Get your guns, girls, they’re robbing the bank!
What if what happened in Northfield never happened at all? What if what didn’t happen can be undone and made to happen? What if people were willing to consider that it was all possible despite certain immutable laws of science? What if people sang silly songs and acted stupidly the whole time? What if none of it made much sense, but it made you laugh just the same? What if we stopped asking rhetorical questions like this? Can you imagine all that? We can, and we can show you in Jessie Jane’s Jamboree V: Never Never Northfield.
Jessie Jane’s Jamboree 5: Never Never Northfield is the fifth in a series of lighthearted musical melodrama parodies written by local playwright Brendon Etter. This delightful production is directed by Deborah Clark and features the acting talents of Debra Bjornard, Matt Drenth, Jane Edgerdal, Kevin Ely, Tom Ett, Jordan Ett, Ann Etter, Esme Etter, Jennifer Finger, Jerry Fox, Libby Glimsdal, Marcia Jacobs, Matt Lockett David Maki-Waller, Kaara Maki-Waller, Michelle Olsen, Melody Pringle, Jordan Severson, Kate Southwick, Aspenn Ward, Kevin Ward, and Annie Zimbel
