Technology Transformation touching Northfield – 5th and final in the series – Will teachers become video “break out” stars?
In this 5th and final installment of Technology Transformation touching Northfield, the question arises about possible “break-out stars” in the teaching world and whether they would start asking for more money as they share their knowledge with kids all over the world. The model has been that people who are involved in education tend to share their information gratis. In other words, for free. Although there will likely be “for pay” resources, those would be looked at differently. However, right now, there are so many options because instruction is coming from varied types of teaching. From the Harvard professor to the Community college instructor. While teachers certainly interact with students now Richardson believes that this offers them more opportunity to reach students. Technology transformation won’t happen all at once. Hillman will be doing focus groups with kids and teachers for their feedback. At each change of the public school classroom there’s been discussion surrounding it and technology transformation is no different but change IS coming and the Northfield classroom of the future looks bright.
