Measure For Measure

by William Shakespeare

Directed by Susan Carlson

A young man commits a small indiscretion and is severely punished because of a “zero tolerance” policy. A publicly conservative politician has a tendency to behave inappropriately around attractive women. Do these scenarios sound like newspaper headlines? Nope! These events were dreamed up by William Shakespeare!

Measure for Measure is a comedy which tells the tale of the young couple Claudio and Juliet. In our tale, the love of our young couple is threatened by a strict judge named Angelo. Angelo, unfortunately, has a less than honorable love of the ladies. Angelo’s abuse of power causes his comeuppance through a series of comedic misadventures and the young couple is eventually allowed to marry and to live happily ever after.
