This play is the perfect precursor to Halloween. Based on one of English literature’s most famous stories, playwright Jeffrey Hatcher honors Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella, “A Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” with a remarkable new twist: multiple Hydes portrayed by four members of the cast.   Hatcher compellingly invites us to consider if there is a bit of the malicious Mr. Hyde in all of us.

Set in 1880’s London, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde focuses on the concepts of identity. This is a world of uncertainty and subjectivity; where incomplete accounts of characters and circumstances are complex and elusive. As Dr. Jekyll’s character vacillates between two contradictory selves, the reputable doctor and the brutal criminal, the suspense becomes both intense and touching.

Seven performances are scheduled for October 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 at 7:30pm and October 14 and 21 at 2:00pm.   Tickets and more information regarding Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, are available through the Northfield Arts Guild Office at (507) 645- 8877 or online at northfieldartsguild.org.
