Celebrated Twin Cities musicians Prudence Johnson and Dan Chouinard will stoke the romantic fires with a tour through the Great American Songbook, sharing the music of Gershwin, Carmichael and other great American composers.

Prudence Johnson’s career in music has taken her from nightclubs to Carnegie Hall and from the theater stage to the silver screen, with roles in “A River Runs Through It” and “A Prairie Home Companion.”  Well-known to Prairie Home Companion fans, she has 12 albums to her credit.  In recent years, she has served as writer and performer in several multi-media music and history touring productions, such as “A Girl Named Vincent,” and, with Dan Chouinard, “The Golden Age of Radio” and “Tiptoe Through the 60s: Songs and Stories from a Revolutionary Decade.”

Dan Chouinard, a pianist, accordionist and storyteller, plays, tours and records regularly with an ever-expanding roster of musicians and writers. He regularly creates special programs which blend storytelling, interview and music, most recently “Café Europa III” for Minnesota Public Radio. His frequent MPR appearances have included collaborations with Kevin Kling, Ann Reed, Peter Ostroushko and Patricia Hampl. When not working as a musician he travels the world by bicycle, with tent and accordion in tow, seeking out new repertoire and music-making opportunities.

Scott Richardson is the Director of Community Relations at the Northfield Hospital and Clinics and serves on the Board of the Northfield Healthy Community Initiative and is the current President of the Board for the Northfield Historical Society.
