BREAKING NEWS: Shooting death in Northfield Sunday morning

Updated NPD Press Release – 081416 – Shooting-Death Investigation

Northfield Police were called to, what was reported as a home invasion about 7:49 this morning in the 1200 block of Jefferson Road. Police, emergency responders and other agencies arrived to find a shooting victim deceased.  Northfield police Chief Monte Nelson reports an adult suspect is in custody and is being cooperative.  Nelson said it does not appear to be a home invasion at this point and he would not release any further details on the victim or the suspect.  He added that the public is not in danger.  The BCA is on their way.  We’ll have more on the story as details become available.
