Poultry Producer Annual Meeting

Claire LaCanne, Agricultural Extension Educator for Rice and Steele Counties

(Faribault, 9/7/2017) – The Minnesota Turkey Growers’ Association and the Chicken and Egg Association of Minnesota are holding their annual producer meeting on Tuesday, September 12 beginning at 11am. The main presentation site is in Willmar, with satellite locations in Little Falls and Faribault.

Poultry producers will learn about recent goings-on at the poultry laboratories including new testing capabilities, new personnel, and clarification on which MN laboratories perform various tests. National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) Biosecurity Audits will also be covered, providing an overview of how the audits will proceed in Minnesota and how to accomplish a successful audit.

Representatives from UMN Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, the Minnesota Poultry Testing Laboratory, and the UMN Mid-Central Research and Outreach Center will cover these pertinent topics for Minnesota poultry producers. Lunch is included in the event, and will be provided at all three host locations.

Producers can also join the meeting via computer at home or work. For instructions on how to login, contact local Ag. Extension Educator, Claire LaCanne at (507) 332-6165 or lacanne@umn.edu.
