Art and Ale Fundraiser at Northfield Arts Guild
On Saturday, August 26 from 7:00 to 10:30pm the Northfield Arts Guild hosts the third annual Art & Ale party, a fundraiser supporting creativity at the Northfield Arts Guild. Art & Ale features homebrew beer from members of Milltown Mashers, live performances, adult “make and take” art activities, a silent auction and more.
Art & Ale features performances by internationally known guitarist/songwriter and Carleton music professor, Mark Kreitzer; by the Hot Spot House Band Trio, featuring Carrie Jennings (sax), Nate Nelson (guitar), and Jeff Gurney (bass); by magician/mentalist Adam Putnam whose show is a fusion of carefully selected magic tricks, mind-reading, and legitimate psychology demonstrations; and by juggler Josiah Simon.
Attendees can decorate their own beer mug in our clay studio, or take one home that night from the pop-up gallery exhibition, “Mugged”. “Mugged” will feature over 300 mugs from 18 local, regional and nationally known ceramic artists, including artists who have never exhibited at the Guild before. The handled cups are both hand built and wheel thrown, both porcelain and earthenware; some are subtly finished and others are elaborately decorated with glazes and drawings.
Last year’s Art & Ale event was a near sell out, so get your tickets soon! Back by popular demand is a limited number of early entry tickets allowing entrance at 7:00pm, and all early entry tickets receive a handmade Northfield Arts Guild mug. Early Entry tickets cost $55.00 for one and $50.00 each for two or more. General admission to the event begins at 8:00pm. General Admission tickets are $40.00 for one, $35.00 each for two or more. The Northfield Arts Guild Main and Up Galleries, Office and Shop are located at 304 Division Street South, Northfield. Regular business hours are Tuesdays through Fridays from 12:00pm to 6:00pm and Saturdays from 11:00am to 3:00 pm.
