The Northfield Arts Guild presents second in LAB Theater Series

Northfield Arts Guild Theater presents the second installment in its new LAB Theater Series, Parent of Lies; Children of Bondage, by Northfield writer L. Mark Tolle. A selective look at the United States’ little-told past and its current history-in-the-making, the first public reading of this musical satire occurs one night only: Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 Third Street West, Northfield.

Tickets for Parent of Lies; Children of Bondage are only $5.00 and are available online at NorthfieldArtsGuild.org, by calling 507-645-8877, or at the Northfield Arts Guild’s Center for the Arts, 304 Division Street South, Northfield.  Tickets will also be available at the door prior to the performance.

Have an interest in some of the alternative history of the United States?  Enjoy satire?  Willing to have your moralist views challenged? This musical play is about current and past episodes of US history not usually taught in our public education system.

A critical process, audience members are encouraged to stay for a question and comment period following the musical.  Playwright Tolle and director Julianna Skluzacek welcome feedback to assist with moving the play closer to production.

The LAB Theater Series is dedicated to experimenting and supporting theater arts. It’s about offering opportunities, widening participation and welcoming others. The LAB encourages new theater artists and advances seasoned theater artists to develop and sharpen skills.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
