The Northfield Parkinson’s Support Group will meet on Wednesday, June 28 at Northfield Hospital. Individuals who have Parkinson’s, or those with a loved one who has Parkinson’s, are invited to attend.

Learn about the effects that music has on us, and how you can use music to manage some of the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

Guest speaker is neurologic music therapist Sandra Holten, MT-BC. Sandra is a Fellow of the Academy for Neurologic Music Therapy, and has been the music therapist on the interdisciplinary team at the Struthers Parkinson’s Center since 1996. She has presented on the local, regional and national level and served on the faculty for the Allied Team Training for Parkinson’s. Sandra contributed a chapter entitled “Neurologic Music Therapy: A Modality to Address the Diverse Needs of People with Parkinson’s Disease” for a medical textbook, Parkinson’s Disease, second edition published in 2012 by CRC Press.
