Today in the ArtZany Radio studio Paula Granquist welcomes director Rachel Haider and students from the Northfield Arts Guild Purple Door Youth Theater production of The Wizard of Oz.
The Northfield Arts Guild Theater presents a Purple Door Youth Theater production of The Wizard of Oz.
When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tinman who is missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to extinguish the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help. In this family-friendly, non-musical adaptation by Rochelle Norbert four unlikely friends discover wisdom, compassion, courage, and the way home.
