Manny Villafana is a pioneer in biomedical device development. While co-inventing the lithium powered pacemaker (with Northfielders Don Hanson and Bill Palmquist), Villafana founded his first company, Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc. He went on to found 7 more companies, including St. Jude’s Medical and, most recently, Kips Bay Medical. Here he shares his life from his upbringing in the Bronx to becoming a medical device innovator and corporate CEO.
The Wayne Eddy Affair: Through more than 50 years in broadcasting, Wayne Eddy has been a champion of hometown radio. His voice launched KYMN on September 27, 1968, and for the next 34 years he served as owner, manager, and morning host. In 2007 he was inducted into the Pavek Museum Hall of Fame.
