Join us for good food, good beer, and good films at the 4th Annual Downstream Environmental Film Festival at Imminent Brewing in Northfield! This year’s festival will take place Tuesday, February 18th. Doors open at 5:30 pm for dinner and socializing. Films begin at 6:30 pm.
One highlight this year is that the event will line up with Imminent Brewing’s launch of their first ever KernzaTM beer! You tasted and then voted at December’s C.O.W.S. and KernzaTM event and the enthusiasm for an Altbier style was clear! KernzaTM plants keep the ground covered year-round and help prevent wind and water erosion in farm fields thanks to their extensive root system. These plants are being grown by local farmers and they can be grazed by cattle and/or harvested for their seed heads to bake and brew with. Cannon River Watershed Partnership has been working with the University of Minnesota and other partners to develop a market for this new grain so give it a taste at the event in February!
Tickets are $10 and include the films and a light dinner served by Just Food Co-op’s deli. Beer and other beverages available for purchase. Tickets will go on sale in mid-January. We’ll send out an email to let you know when you can buy them online. Check out www.downstreamfilmseries.
