Loretta Ellsworth

Loretta Ellsworth’s historical novel, Stars Over Clear Lake is a love story that draws on a real-life ballroom and the big band era during WWII, as well as the little-known POW camps in the U.S The novel transports readers to the Surf Ballroom, where musical acts became legends in the 1940s and which holds the key to one woman’s deepest secret.

Loretta has also published four young adult novels, The Shrouding Woman, In Search of Mockingbird, In a Heartbeat, and Unforgettable.  Her books have won awards such as the Northeastern MN Book Award, The Midwest Bookseller’s Award in Children’s Literature, ALA Picks, Kirkus Picks, Teen’s Top Ten nominees, IRA Notables, and named to the New York Library’s List for the Teen Aged.

Come to the Northfield Public Library on Thursday, January 24, at 7:00 pm and hear the author talk about her novel and writing. Book will be available for purchase. The program is free and open to the public. Questions, please call the library at 645-6606.
