The Northfield Downtown Development Corporation will host a family-friendly food crawl event on Thursday, June 21st from 5-8 pm in Downtown Northfield. The walking Taste Tour features small servings of food and drinks at 10 downtown locations. Taste Tour tickets will be sold at Bridge Square starting at 4:45 pm for $1 each and most food samples are priced at 1-3 tickets.
“Last year we updated the old Taste of Northfield event into a food crawl format,” said Jenni Roney, Executive Director of the NDDC. “People really enjoyed it and we’re so excited to have both breweries and the Contented Cow in the lineup this year.” Stops on the 2018 Downtown Northfield Taste Tour include: Chapati, The Contented Cow, The Hideaway, Hogan Brothers, Imminent Brewing, Just Food Co-op, Mandarin Garden, Northfield Olive Oils & Vinegars, Quality Bakery, Tanzenwald Brewing. “There’s something for everyone,” Roney said. “Cream cheese wontons, lettuce wraps, Indian curry, pulled pork sliders, rhubarb bars, ice cream…and of course locally brewed beers.”
Those who eat at four or more stops on the Taste Tour can enter in a drawing to win a two-night stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Decorah, Iowa or the new Fairfield Inn & Suites opening in Downtown Northfield this September. Several retail shops will have Third Thursday specials and the Community Band will give a free concert in Bridge Square at 7 pm.
