Due to bad weather on April 11th we have rebooked the program Heron Thieves, a Bat Out of Hell, and Other Fly Fishing Stories for Saturday June 8th from 1:00 – 2:30. Local author Jim Holden will share some of his experiences in chasing after elusive trout the past 35 years. Holden’s love of flyfishing and the outdoors are abundantly expressed in the book Heron Thieves… as are sketches of the wide range of characters he has met on his fishing adventures. In addition, there are two stories written by his BFFF (best flyfishing friend) Dave Emery, a retired St. Olaf economics professor.

Holden, a former Northfield High School English teacher and tennis coach, is also the author of a history of boys’ high school tennis in Minnesota called Tennis in the Northland and a memoir of the year he taught school in England (A Yank in Queen Elizabeth’s Court). His wife Caroline is a retired registered nurse and they have two children and eight grandchildren.
