Nerstrand Big Woods State park is a wonderful gem, just a few miles southeast of Northfield. The park is made up of dense hardwood, with a beautiful stream running through it and a lovely waterfall not far from the visitor center. The sport of big mountain snowmobiling has come a long way. Turbo charged engines, long tracks and heavy duty suspension systems are the modern standard. These vehicles have specially designed long lug tracks, which allow them to maneuver through heavy, deep powder conditions.
