d72a5aaae001d90114b7349e983ed158The Northfield Arts and Culture Commission invite you an informal gathering at City Hall this afternoon to view a new exhibit remembering 9/11 and the 15th anniversary.

This year, our nation recognizes the fifteenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Northfield acknowledges the events of that period with an art exhibit “9/11: A Fifteen Year Anniversary Commemoration” on display in City Hall.  In this exhibit, Northfield artists Wendell Arneson, Marybeth Coyle, Toni Easterson, Jill Ewald, Shawnee Langworthy, Sharol Nau, Riki Kölbl Nelson, Don Roos, John Saurer and Mar Valdencantos present their look at the tragedy and the rebuilding of the country. The works in this powerful exhibit include paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, collages, textiles, and combinations of these materials.

Also on view in City Hall is art by students in the Northfield schools.

The public is invited to see the exhibits and meet the artists at an informal gathering on Friday, September 30 in City Hall, 801 Washington Street, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
