Missing child alert UPDATE: Found

The MN BCA reported at 9:19am today that Journee was located in Rochester over the weekend.  No further actions are sought.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has issued a missing person alert for 13-year-old Journee Starr Malone of Rochester.  Journee was last seen at 5 p.m. Monday near Gage East Apartments in Rochester.

 

Authorities say she is a “vulnerable child” with a disability of being a “selective mute” and “many not communicate willingly.”

Journee is described as 5 feet, 3 inches and 120 pounds. She has long hair sometimes worn in a ponytail and has a light brown complexion. Police say she was last seen wearing “a dark colored, hooded sweatshirt, jeans and black boots.” She also had a black backpack.  Authorities say, “Malone may be voluntarily missing and being hidden with the assistance of others.”
