Community News: Northfield Beyond the Yellow Ribbon serving Military Families

5344b49fbc30f94114510d82a736702dDeployed military member’s family receives “building a deck’ support from the Northfield Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network.

The new deck at the Sirek home is a great coming together of business, veterans and community organizations and demonstrates how well the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon network works to support our local veterans, military personnel and their families.

Aleecia Sirek reached out to the Northfield Beyond the Yellow Ribbon network this summer.  Her husband, Staff Sergeant Richard Sirek, is on his third deployment for the Army.  Aleecia and Richard have 2 children (ages seven and one) and a new baby arriving in November.

Aleecia is caring for their family in Richard’s absence (he’s due back next spring).  Their request?  Is there a company that could provide support to build a deck or someone who might be interested in helping support a deployed soldier’s family?

The Northfield Beyond the Yellow Ribbon went into action – sending out the Sirek request to the now hundreds of people, businesses and organizations in the Northfield network.

Hans Naumann was one of the first to step up and offer his company’s services to build the deck.  Hans is a member of the Northfield Sertoma Chapter and they offered to donate 100{b5761be34e80a16b6d0e4dabc1869c131a263f96a745c82bebdd3b8a4330bfa9} of the project costs to this deserving family.

Our network works.

Are you a veteran or military family in need of support?  Are you someone who would like to join the network?  If you answered yes to either of these questions, email or call us at NYellowRibbon@gmail.com or leave a message at 507-645-3019.

The purpose of the Northfield Beyond the Yellow Ribbon network is to create awareness for the purpose of connecting service members, veterans and their families with community support.
