Power outage in Northfield

UPDATE:  Electricity is back up!  Remember to turn your computers back on!  Xcel Energy media rep said it was “equipment failure” as a crew worked near 5th and Washington.  He added that they’re still investigating the exact cause.  Power was out for 12 minutes.

Just after 11 o’clock this morning, several outages were reported in Northfield.  The entire downtown district, including KYMN Radio, is affected.  Word is, Xcel Energy was working on a transformer and there was a “pop”, then the electricity went out.   According to Xcel’s website, they’re predicting restoration by 12:45pm.
