ArtZany! – Radio for the Imagination 02/17/2017

This memoir-cum-cookbook Homemade, from celebrated cook Beatrice Ojakangas, is chock-full of recipes, anecdotes, and a kind humor that bring to vivid life the Finnish culture of northern Minnesota as well as the wider culinary world. Homemade delivers the savory and the sweet in equal measures and casts a warm light on a rich slice of the country’s cooking heritage.

Ojakangas is the author of twenty-nine cookbooks including The Finnish Cookbook (in print since 1964), Scandinavian Cooking, Great Old-Fashioned American Recipes, Great Whole Grain Breads, Scandinavian Feasts, and the award-winning Great Scandinavian Baking Book. In 2005, she was inducted to the James Beard Cookbook Hall of Fame.
