INCIDENT: ATV Fatality
DATE/TIME: 05-06-17 @ 4:49 p.m.
LOCATION: 6580 Farwell Avenue (Webster Township)
DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT: On 05-06-17 at 4:49 pm, the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Lonsdale Fire & Rescue and Northfield Ambulance were dispatched to an ATV rollover.
Deputies arrived on scene, followed shortly thereafter by the Lonsdale Rescue squad and MN State Patrol, and discovered the lone male occupant of the ATV was deceased alongside a field southwest of the residence.
The driver was identified as Dennis J. Skluzacek, 48, of Lonsdale. He had been driving an Arctic Cat 500 ATV on the family property when it rolled over. Mr. Skluzacek was found under the ATV by family members. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
An autopsy is being performed at the request of the Rice County Coroner’s Office at the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
