Rice County Public Health and Northfield Retirement Community are teaming up to offer Living Well with Chronic Conditions in Northfield for interested community members. These evidence based programs help people with chronic conditions live healthier and fuller lives. The six week workshop series helps people feel better, be in control, and do the things they want to do.
Together with other attendees, class participants will learn and practice ways to improve how they take care of themselves and enjoy life. Discussion areas include: self-management skills, practical ways to cope with pain and fatigue, better nutrition and exercise choices, treatment options, and methods for speaking with a health care provider or family member about health.
Participants meet for 2 ½ hours once a week for six weeks. Classes begin Tuesday, October 10th, and will be held October 10th – November 14th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Parkview Activity Room at Northfield Retirement Community, 900 Cannon Valley Drive, Northfield.
These classes are offered at no cost to participants and are open to the public, but pre-registration is required by Monday, October 9th.
