Film crew creates a little chaos and a lot of wonder UPDATE with some video

A film crew in downtown Northfield Friday has created a stir among those trying to travel down Division St., those trying to park, residents wondering what’s going on and the police who’ve dealt with traffic issues as the feature film, “Tuscaloosa”,  is being shot here.  Teri Knight spoke with Anne Healey the location manager who said the film is set in 1972, thus the period cars on Bridge Square and in front of Ragstock.  They’re also filming at Willie’s Shoe Store and

Armory Square.  She added that, “Northfield is such a great place to come because everything looks just perfect.  It’s like a real town, we don’t have to dress all the stores like they’re empty.  And  it’s not that far away from Minneapolis.  So that’s why any film that wants a town like this, is going to come here”.  They should be wrapping up downtown by 5pm and then they’ll head to Carleton where they’ll be filming for at least 2 weekends. Healey said they will also be filming at the Depot site for use as a police station in 2 weeks.  The Director is Phil Harder who has directed multiple Target commercials and more.   Haley did not give up details of the film.  Some video:
