On December 15th, 2017 at approximately 11:44 AM Rice County Deputies along with Northfield Fire & Rescue and Northfield Ambulance were dispatched to the area of Dennison Boulevard and Goodhue Avenue in Rice County for a medical emergency. Emergency personnel responded to a farm accident involving livestock. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was injured while tending to livestock in a pasture. The victim was tended to on scene and later transported by North Air Care to HCMC hospital. His condition was listed as critical.
The victim is 69 year old Daniel Koester of Dennison
The Rice County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Northfield Fire Department, Northfield Ambulance, and the MN State Patrol.
