Raiders get #2 Seed at State, play Wednesday

The Raider Girls basketball team have amassed an impressive record while having their most successful season in four decades.  Today, it was announced that the team received the #2 seed in the State Tournament.  That means that the 25-3 Raiders will play their first round game in the quarterfinals against unseeded Mankato West Wednesday at 2:00pm at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.  KYMN will broadcast the game with Ned Newberg and Paul Eddy on the call.

The Raiders beat the 21-7 Scarlets twice in the regular season by scores of 66-62 at home in December and 48-37 in Mankato in early February.

Overall, Robbinsdale Cooper got the #1 seed, and will play unseeded Alexandria in the early game Wednesday.  Holy Angels is seeded 3rd and faces Grand Rapids in the quarters, while fourth-seeded DeLaSalle faces #5 Willmar at noon Wednesday.  All of the first round games are at Williams Arena before shifting to Target Center for the semi’s and finals.
