The Raider Girls basketball team have amassed an impressive record while having their most successful season in four decades. Today, it was announced that the team received the #2 seed in the State Tournament. That means that the 25-3 Raiders will play their first round game in the quarterfinals against unseeded Mankato West Wednesday at 2:00pm at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. KYMN will broadcast the game with Ned Newberg and Paul Eddy on the call.
The Raiders beat the 21-7 Scarlets twice in the regular season by scores of 66-62 at home in December and 48-37 in Mankato in early February.
Overall, Robbinsdale Cooper got the #1 seed, and will play unseeded Alexandria in the early game Wednesday. Holy Angels is seeded 3rd and faces Grand Rapids in the quarters, while fourth-seeded DeLaSalle faces #5 Willmar at noon Wednesday. All of the first round games are at Williams Arena before shifting to Target Center for the semi’s and finals.
