Audiences will experience a series of interlaced performances of theater, dance, visual installations, and digital media, which will take place at several locations throughout Northfield. The collaborative event, inspired by the spirit of history and architecture, thriving industry and scholarship, as well as the people of Northfield, features more than 200 performers from both colleges and the greater community. The Northfield Experience will be a unique, one of a kind performance event and an experience not to be missed!
This is a promenade performance event in which the audience will take part in a progressive walking tour that begins at The Grand Event Center, 316 Washington Street, Northfield, MN.
The Northfield (Exhibition) Experience
April 18 – May 12, 2018

The integrated gallery exhibition,The Northfield (Exhibition) Experience offers its own visual journey of both the project, and of the city of Northfield. This exhibition is a reverse documentary of The Northfield Experience performances, as it is collectively documents an event before it has happened. The exhibition includes paintings, photographs, textiles, collage and ceramics from over 30 artists from Northfield and St. Olaf College, and is particularly unique as the work is generated by each artist’s conceptual vision around an arts event before the event occurs.
Please join us to learn more about the work and meet the artists at the Artist Reception on Friday, April 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with remarks from the Artistic Director of The Northfield Experience, Stephan Koplowitz at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.
Northfield Arts Guild, St. Olaf College and Carleton College present The Northfield Experience. This event is a promenade performance in which the audience will take part in a progressive walking tour that begins at The Grand Event Center, Friday-Sunday, May 4-6, 2018.
This exhibition will give viewers a unique entry point into the seven sites being animated as part of The Northfield Experience. As part of the complete experience, viewers are invited to visit the gallery exhibition for differing perspectives both before and after the May 4-6 promenade performances.
