CVB honors local tourism advocates

Visit Northfield, the city’s official Convention & Visitors Bureau, recognized six award-winners for supporting travel and tourism in Northfield.  Chip DeMann and Jane Moline were honored for their, over 40 years, organizing the bank raid reenactments during the Defeat of Jesse James Days celebration.  Ryan Murphy of Country Inn & Suites was recognized for his work and dedication every day to those who visit Northfield. Joe and Sherry Morgan won in the retail category for their store, Northfield Olive Oils and Vinegar and Deanna Cross with the iconic Ole Store restaurant, was honored for her leadership and the friendly atmosphere she creates and shares with every visitor.  A luncheon was held yesterday at the Northfield Golf Club where the recipients received their awards and heard from keynote Speaker, Dan McElroy. He discussed the impact of tourism on the states economy as well as the county’s, bringing in nearly $7 million in sales tax. [envira-gallery id=”69498″]
