Notice of Restricted Outdoor Burning in Rice County

August 17, 2018

From Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn:

An Air Quality Alert has been posted for the state of Minnesota beginning at 8PM Friday Aug 17 through Noon Sunday August 19.  Therefore, burning restrictions will go into effect Friday at 8:00 pm in Rice County.

Electronic Permits that have been activated prior to 8PM tonight will still be legal since they have an activation number. We would request that they complete the burn prior to 8PM or not allow the burn if it will continue past 8:00 pm.

Recreational camp fires are also discouraged during this time period.  Thank you for your cooperation.
