Storm update information

5am 9-21-18:  The KYMN phones are down.

Faribault and Northfield schools 2 hours late.

Curfew in effect in the city of Morristown from 10:00PM to 6:30 AM. No one allowed outside of their homes. Residents only allowed into the City.

From Hiawathaland Transit:  Due to the storm damage that has affected most of our service area, we will have limited Hiawathaland Transit bus service today, Friday September 21st 2018. Please call into Dispatch at 866-623-7505 to check on the status in your area and to schedule rides.

Northfield:  downed trees, power lines but no reported injuries.  City crews will be back at it this morning.  City Administrator Ben Martig said that anyone in Northfield wanting to place a damage report should call 507-663-9483.  

From Dundas Administrator John McCarthy: As of 11:30 PM most streets in Dundas are passable. 115th is blocked and will remain impassable until Xcel clears downed power. 2nd south blocked by Rejoice! Church. 3rd St north between Everet and CR #1 & between Hester & Mill. Please do not drive around barriers. They are there for a reason. Most damage seems to be downed trees. Crews are home until morning. Stay home and stay safe.

Cannon Falls PD reports:  The storm did result in downed trees and powerlines as well as damage to residences and businesses. Power outages are impacting some areas within the City. The City of Cannon Falls Emergency Services and Public Works Department have been working to clear the trees blocking roads.  Full Press Release:  Cannon Falls 9-21-18 PRESS RELEASE

Faribault PD reports:  At approximately 6:40 PM a severe thunderstorm struck the City of Faribault causing significant damage. Faribault Police and Fire units responded to multiple downed power lines, trees, small electrical fires, and damaged structures. No injuries were reported despite the damage.
