Letters from Max

On today’s 15 with the Author, Teri talks with Sarah Ruhl, an American playwright, professor, and essayist. Two of her plays have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play.  She’s here with Teri Knight today to talk about her latest book, “Letters from Max – a book of Friendship”.  In this moving collection of letters spanning several years, Sarah and poet Max Ritvo share their thoughts on literature, death and the afterlife, and faith and knowledge and much more, in letters to each other before Ritvo’s death from cancer at age 25 in 2016.  Max was Sarah’s student but he became more a colleague and good friend.
