A Rice Co. man charged with multiple sex crimes pleads guilty

A Faribault man charged with 11 counts of criminal sexual conduct pled guilty this morning to one count of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 16 who he had a significant relationship with and one count of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13.    The original complaint, issued in March of 2018, states that 36 year old Keith Richard Falkenstern, came to Faribault with his fiance and her 4 children in late February 2018.  They were living in a hotel when the mother walked in on Falkenstern and one of her two daughters in bed. The little girl was naked. The child ran into the bathroom and told her

mother Falkenstern had touched her. Both girls were interviewed by Rice County Social Services and reported being molested by Falkenstern multiple times in North Carolina, where they came from, and in Minnesota.  His bail was set at $400,000. Each of the counts carries up to 25 years in prison. His sentencing in Rice County is March 26th. North Carolina has filed additional charges and plans to extradite him.
