No travel advised – City declares Snow Emergency

4:40pm  Just got off the phone with Northfield Police Chief Monte Nelson. He advises NO TRAVEL. He’s been on Hwy 3 for over half an hour between Faribault and Northfield and people are not able to keep the snow off their windshields and are driving with their heads out the window! Check the city’s website. In fact, we just received this from the City:

From the City of Northfield:     With the potential of another storm system coming Wednesday afternoon rather than declaring two snow emergencies, we will declare 1 snow emergency beginning Wednesday at noon through Saturday.

Plowing will continue today until everything all streets are open (until 7 p.m.)

Crews will be back at 4 a.m. tomorrow morning, Wednesday, to plow all residential streets curb to curb.

Street department is recommending not traveling in Northfield until everything is plowed curb to curb.
