Snowmobiler found dead in Rice County

A snowmobiler was found dead in Rice County.  Rice County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched just before 2 this morning to attempt to locate a missing adult male snowmobiler in rural northern Rice County.  The man left a residence in Webster Township on his snowmobile and did not arrive at his destination in Northfield.

Deputies and Northfield Fire & Rescue began searching possible routes to include areas in rural Webster, Bridgewater, and Forest Townships.  The missing man and his snowmobile were located in the 6000 block of Hazelwood Avenue at approximately 3:45am.

The man was transported to Northfield Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Victim identification pending notification of family.

The Rice County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Northfield Fire & Rescue and Northfield Ambulance on scene.
