Sen. Rich Draheim applauds Trump, EPA, and USDA agreement that promotes biofuels and local farmers
Last month, Draheim and fellow senators urged Trump and the EPA to renew commitment to biofuels

ST. PAUL, MN – Senator Rich Draheim (R-Madison Lake) applauded a recent agreement reached by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and President Donald Trump to strengthen the federal government’s promotion of domestic biofuels production. Significantly, the agreement ensures that more than 15 billion gallons of conventional ethanol will be blended into the country’s fuel supply beginning in 2020. This agreement follows a letter authored by Senator Draheim and other Minnesota Senate Republicans last month that urged President Trump and the EPA to revisit energy policies to help Minnesota farmers, businesses, and ethanol producers.

“This action signifies that President Trump and our leaders in Washington heard the concerns of Minnesota farmers and small business owners,” said Senator Draheim, a member of the Senate Agriculture, Rural Development, and Housing Committees. “From allowing E-15 fuel year-round to this agreement, President Trump and the federal government continue to support not only our rural economy, but energy security through the expansion of domestic biofuel production. I appreciate the President and the EPA listening to our concerns and enacting policies that help Minnesota farm families and businesses.”
