Atlas of the National Parks

Our national parks get over 330 million visitors each year.  The National Park Service and National Geographic have teamed up to produce the Atlas of the National Parks. More than 200 historical and contemporary maps and images show the entirety of America’s 61 national park system for the first time ever, including the virtually unexplored Indiana Dunes National Park.. Teri Knight’s guest today is Jon Waterman, award-winning author, filmmaker and adventurer. He is a former ranger for the National Park Service and a longtime wilderness guide. Jon talks about how his interest in exploring was sparked. He highlights this wonderful book with honored landmarks, wildlife, fascinating histories and future challenges for every park. There are details unique to each park. NOTE: Our interview was cut way short due to technical challenges, I added some commentary of my own. jonathonwaterman.com
